Lifelong obsessions with cinema, record cover artwork and the greats of street photography have contributed to Lucy Spartalis’ photographic style: bold, striking and richly-toned, full of humour, drama and wonder.
Lucy lives and works in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges alongside her videographer partner Alastair Innes – together they form She Takes Pictures He Makes Films. In the decade since they began collaboration (on their first date – a fairly risky move that totally paid off), they’ve captured many hundreds of celebrations around Australia and the world in vivid and energetic detail. When they’re not neck-deep in wedding shooting/editing mayhem, you’ll likely find them hanging with their three chooks and beloved Kelpie, Taika.
